The Sussex Neurodiversity Practice is a contemporary service that combines Neuroscience, Specialist Teaching and Psychology to provide assessments, consultancy and tutoring. Founded by Lauren Harris-Mackey, an experienced teacher, SENDCo and Educational Neuroscientist, the Sussex Neurodiversity Practice can offer vital practical support in understanding your child’s way of learning in a setting that does not view differences as deficits.

MY METHOD

  • CONSULTANCY

    The journey towards understanding your child always starts with an open and honest discussion. As an experienced teacher, SENDCo and consultant, I understand the importance of liaising with your child’s school in order for their needs to be met in their everyday setting.

  • ASSESSMENT

    At The Sussex Neurodiversity Practice, I combine Educational Neuroscience, Psychology and Specialist Teaching to carefully assess the complexities of each child. This gives you a neurodevelopmental report which will clearly explain your child’s abilities, differences and any underlying difficulties.

  • SPECIALIST TUTORING

    As a specialist tutor, registered with the BDA, I utilise my experience and training to deliver tailored sessions to each pupil ranging from mild to moderate+ needs . Background information, reports and EHCPs are used to inform all planning and delivery. Feedback is given after each session and progress reports can be provided every term or half term as required.
