Services and Fees

“All private assessments and sessions are delivered using guidance from the British Psychological Society and the SpLD Standards Committee. They use a relaxed and sensory-friendly approach, aimed at causing minimal stress. Reports are written by a fully DBS-checked, certified Educational Neuroscientist & registered Psychometric Test User, meaning they are recognised in state, private and international schools.”

  • First Steps Assessment

This “cognitive profile” could be considered a first step in exploring a potential neurodiversity. This would involve a battery of carefully selected assessments based on your consultation and pupil observation. From this you will be given a clear, visual report which illustrates in your child’s abilities, underlying difficulties and how this may manifest in the classroom.

Each assessment process is uniquely tailored to each child, therefore prices can vary depending on the time taken and steps required. If a specific condition appears to be present within this initial assessment, this will be discussed with you and further assessment arranged.

  • Diagnostic Assessment

If consultation and observation is highly suggestive of a SpLD (specific learning difficulty) such as Dyslexia or a processing disorder then a diagnostic assessment can be arranged which will be able to officially confirm the presence of the condition, alongside stipulations for exams.

Diagnostic Dyslexia assessments are written with strict adherence to SASC guidelines and are always preceded by a questionnaire and visual screener. The Sussex Neurodiversity Practise can discuss the likely presence of Autism and ADHD but in order to gain a clinical diagnosis, you will be signposted or referred to a registered practician.

*If you would like to discuss additional classroom observation, checks or screening, this can be discussed via consultation.

  • Update Assessment

If you already have a diagnostic assessment for Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Autism or ADHD that is over 2 years old, you may be asked to provide an updated report to a new school or exam board. Rather than repeating a full diagnostic assessment, we would advise that you opt for an “update assessment” that can provide a new subset of data needed to update the existing report and confirm or add exam access arrangements if they qualify.

  • Parental Advice & Consultancy

Knowing where to start with your child’s needs can be very overwhelming. There are so many services and acronyms to get your head around, you can feel lost. As an experienced SENDCo working across Sussex and Surrey, I can offer you guidance on dealing with your child’s school, getting seen by your county services team and securing funding through an EHCP if needed. I am able to help you with your paperwork, talk to your school and refer your child to the right place based on your location, timescale and budget. I can also attend EHCP/school meetings with you as your advocate. Support can also be given for future schools such as school liaison, CAT testing and entrance test preparation.

For new clients, the initial 30-minute consultation is free of charge.

  • Tutoring Sessions

Before, after or alongside assessment, many families choose 1:1 tutoring for their child to help support their learning and accelerate progress towards their targets. As an Accredited Level 7 Specialist Teacher, I can address specific target areas identified in private assessments, school reports or NHS reports and ensure that 1:1 lessons are tailored exactly to your child’s needs; be that dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, Autism, PDA, dyspraxia and more. Sessions can be booked alongside an assessment or without as long as enough information can be provided. Many parents choose to have rolling tutoring but a set block can also be designed for a specific outcome (e.g. an exam or holiday period).

As each block of sessions is unique to each child; prices are quoted taking into account: session complexity, distance travelled, age of pupil and resources needed. In many cases, sessions can be delivered easily online and can be 45 minutes or 1 hour depending on needs. It is also possible for a block of session plans to be created by Sussex Neurodiversity Practice for delivery by your child’s current tutor.
